Experience the rich brewing heritage of Finland at the Olvi Brewery Museum in Iisalmi. Founded by W.G. Åberg and Onni Åberg in 1878, Olvi is the last remaining independent brewery from a time when 78 breweries thrived across the country.

The Brewery Museum maintained by the non-profit OLVI Foundation is Finland’s only public brewery museum. It showcases beer-making and the long history of beer. Experience the fascinating story and taste of Finnish beer in a setting that celebrates our heritage!

The Brewery Museum offers engaging experiences and insights for everyone

  • Groups: Suitable for groups of 4–30 people. Self-Guided or Guided tours.

  • Individual Visitors: Self-guided tours available for solo travellers.

The Language of Beer is universally known, but we serve You in Finnish and English 

Museum signage is available in both Finnish and English. The Spirit of Olvi immersive space, featuring Olvi's 145-year history and the Olvi Brewery tour, includes English subtitles.

Guided Tour Languages: Finnish and English.

Opening Hours:

The Olvi Brewery Museum is open to the public year-round, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The lunch buffet is available from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

The Olvi Beer Hall and Brewery Museum are closed on weekends and Finnish public holidays. Outside Regular Hours: Open by appointment only.

·       Self-guided Visit: Please allow approximately 3 hours for a complete experience.

·       Guided Brewery Museum Tour: 3–4 hours, including lunch or an Olvi Beer Tasting.

The Brewery Museum is located at Olvi-Oluthalli in beautiful lakeside surroundings in Iisalmi, right next to the Olvi Brewery.

Getting to Iisalmi:

Iisalmi is easily accessible by public transportation. From the train station: A 1.3 km walking distance and from the bus station: A 650 m walking distance.

The nearest airports are located in Rissala (KUO) 73.6 km and Kajaani (KAJ) 101 km.
Iisalmi is accessible from both the south and north via Highway 5 by car.

Pricing:

  • Guided Tour for Groups: €100 per hour (Price includes VAT at 25.5%), 4-30 persons.

  • Self-guided Visitors: Free entry to the exhibition. The exhibition signs provide insights into the history of beer and Olvi in both Finnish and English. Visitors can explore the exhibition without a guide.

Olvi Beer Hall Restaurant:

  • Lunch Buffet: €12.50 per person (includes VAT at 14%)

  • Olvi Beer Tasting: €25 per person (includes 4 x 0.5L of Olvi beers, each brewed using different methods) (Price includes VAT at 25.5%) 4-20 persons.
